Betting Options
There are three betting options in the game of baccarat and it's this different approach that makes it a totally unique card game. Baccarat allows you to bet for yourself, against yourself and for the banker/dealer and to bet on a tie.
The Banker Bet: The banker bet, in some casinos, comes with a commission of usually 5%. The odds are better to the dealer with the house edge being so small at 1.06%. Next, are the power cards, the Jack, the Queen, and the King. These face cards have no value in baccarat and as such, like 10, their value is zero!
Card Values: 3rd Card Rule
As a side note to the types of betting and card values, indeed you wager your claim prior to the cards being dealt. If, however, you are in a position that your hand is at a total value of 5 and under, you are eligible to receive and additional card. Remember no total can be higher than 9. Therefore, if a player, for example, has 3 and 9, this equals a score of 12, but in baccarat, your score is 2 and you win or lose if the dealer's hand is lower or higher.
